Clock Embed (PiP) - Configuring Microtronix

Here are the instructions for connecting to the Microtronix DX-2200 device from your PC and programming the toggle switch to have it function as a PiP ON/OFF switch.

  1. First download and install PuTTY at https://www.putty.org/
  2. Connect your PC to the RS-232 port on the Microtronix
  3. Go into Device Manager and verify that one of your COM ports is assigned to “USB to Serial Comm Port” and take note what COM port it is assigned to. We’ll need it for PuTTY.

    1. Under SESSION:
      1. For Serial line  >> enter the assigned Port i.e. COM3
      2. Set Speed to 115200.
      3. For Connection type:  >> select Serial
      4. Under Saved Session: Assign a name to this user setting. i.e. DX-2200 Serial
      5. Save the configuration.
    2. Under TERMINAL
      1. Check the boxes for:
        1. Implicit CR in every LF
        2. Implicit LF in every CR

      2. Set the Speed to: 115200, Data bits to: 8, Stop bit to: 1, Parity to: None, and Flow Control to: None
    4. Select SESSION again
      1. Re-save the configuration to DX-2200 Serial.  NOTE: Going forward when restarting PuTTY, it is only necessary to select the DX-2200 Serial configuration and “Load” it from disk.
      2. Click “Open” to a Terminal connection to the unit.
      3. Type “ENTER” to get an * response from the unit.
      4. Type rv to display the version of the software used by the DX-2200 product.
