Atomos - How to configure the Atomos recorder

When setting up a new Atomos, here are the settings that the recorder needs to be configured:

  1. On the top of the Atomos screen, tap on the "H.264 HQ" item. This will bring up a large pop up menu where all the settings live.
  2. You should be on the "Record" tab. Change the Compression option from "JVC GOP" to "STANDARD GOP"
  3. Go backwards to the "Output" tab and make sure SDI Compatibility Mode is set to ON
  4. Go to the "WiFi" tab and turn WiFi OFF (This, in conjunction with the Standard GOP setting, will eliminate the video being pixelated when uploading into Thunder)
  5. Go to the "Timecode" tab and change "Source" to SDI
  6. Go the "Date" tab and change the Time Zone for the customer
  7. Go to the "Power" tab and make sure "Cooling Mode" is set to AUTO and "Turbo Cool" is ON
  8. Go to the "Info" tab and make sure the latest firmware is updated.
